What would be the best way to create engagement?

A friend once told a sad story, kinda fake. It sure got more email openings. But also got rage feedback as a result and an extra email saying sorry to his audience.

I’m always trying to create engagement and continuity using the right motivation. This is where I have always a hard time playing with psychological triggers. Mostly with those aiming scarcity or some sort of fear of missing out.

And I know it is bad for me sometimes.

I believe I will need to get more into social proof or use some sort of badge and gamification style. Let’s see how it goes.

I know that social networks are not social anymore… they are based on interest. Think I will have to play with that.
