The countdown or backward planning

I don’t like deadlines. I like to understand the cadence I need to apply in order to get stuff done.

Usually, I:

  • Pick a date (ok, this could be seen as a deadline)
  • Understand weeks in between.
  • Inside each week, what I need to acomplish? This is related to pure work done… not expected results.
  • I can use expected results as a possible priority change.
  • I define checkpoints using specific tasks or weeks, as meetings or formal communication to people related to the project.

It’s a way to run projects. In this case, a way I use to build the narrative and more important, build cadence.
