I love stories that can remind me where it all started. I remember that about my basketball dreams, the first time I’ve played the piano, first time I wrote some poetry, first time I’ve done a presentation, first time playing drums, first time playing as a band, first company, and I’m thankful for all the people who let me start it.
You see, some of those opportunities came together with broken hearts, some of those opportunities came together with shame and suffering, some with pure joy, but they all came across life and are helping me on my way to become a better me.
I have a lot to learn, I have a lot to listen, I have a lot to be grateful for. And I am.
I had a moment to reflect about this after watching a video from Gary Clark Jr. and the moment when he won a Grammy. After all that anxiety he remembered where it all started.
Sometimes I see only my current present, and forget about people who helped me through the way. We need to get out of automatic pilot and be aware of our life.
