Output requires input

Jack Conte was telling this on a SXSW talk. This is common ground advice, right? I believe in that.

To be a creative person? In my perspective, it is totally based on what I’m consuming. I can’t write if I’m not reading or doing something. It’s not that I can’t write… I feel like questioning stuff and connect current stories with past ones.

I do my reading and my research, so I’m able to produce and publish my stuff. It’s not about copying stuff… well, nowadays “react” channels are all around and lots are valuable channels. Everything is a remix, in the end.

I could just tell stories from the past, or combine past stories to create new ones. That’s sure an option. Like, this post is saved since September of 2022 and now it’s time to publish it. Because I was reading some options to write about and “output requires input” called my attention.

Everyday I’m reading and sort of studying about different subjects, and last week a new project came to my mind, based on those studies. The “connecting dots” process is one I love most. I’m able to connect topics, people and bring new events, meetups and projects alive.

Are you going to create something? What are you consuming right now?
