Don’t confuse leadership with power and authority. You lead because you took the first step. There’s risk involved in your movement. You lead because you show up.

You don’t care about power. You care about movement.

You may be chief / manager / lead something. That’s part of your job title. I don’t care about that. You can even call yourself CxO… but again, that’s just a job title.

The real question is… what do you really do? What are the roles you add energy on a weekly basis? Power is weak. You will lose it.

Leadership is a journey. And it starts with a first step, from you.

Choose responsibility. Choose to show up. Choose to lead.
